Australian Distributor, R.M. Audio is pleased to announce the release of the new MLK165 split system speakers from renowned Italian speaker manufacturer Hertz.
The new MLK165 at $789 RRP will fill the gap between the very popular HSK165 at $363 RRP and audiophile MLK-2 systems which retail for $1,887.
Power rating for the MLK165 system is no slouch at 150 w/rms (300 peak) with a usable frequency responde of 35 Hz to 25 kHz at 92 dB effiecency.
The pre release of these speakers in Europe has caused quite a stir indicating that the MLK165 are sure to be the new favorite competition SQ speakers.

It will be interesting to hear how they sound - wearing the Hertz flag you would expect them to be on the nicer side of accurate

Priced very well also.

Nice to finally see something from hertz to bridge the gap - it's something I feel has been long needed.
The HSK's have always been quite a nice set in their price point, so it's good to see the brand reach out to other markets.
Waiting to hear some news on these

We have two outlets for Hertz / Audison in WA one is in Broome (and somehow they seem to move a ton of gear up there) and Westside Car Audio who have three stores at this time.
Westside were selected due to their quality of workmanship and coverage of the Perth metro area, all Westside stores are owned by one company which we believe is a major factor in the consistancy of quality.
Westside also represent other leading brands for WA.
For the record, the second shipment of the MLK-165 has just arrived and all bar two sets went to Westside, their customers it seems just cant get enough of them!

That's because there is soooo much money to spend on toys floating around up here with the resource boom! Not a whole heap of knowledge to back it up though...

Another one from the Hertz line eh... The MLK165 looks devilish!!! I can only imagine how these sing after listening to the ESK 3 ways I came away really impressed!!

Sat down and had a really good listen to these at a store in Melbourne with them on the board, after some setting up changes and the like i found these speakers to have an unusual cosmetic appearance, very nice midwoofer, with a truly impressive cone and surround setup, tweeter seems a little on the large side with a large punctured silver mesh cover, the woofers mesh grille also has the word Mille embossed upon it, a little touch that many wouldn't notice. Upon listening i found them to have tremendous midbass authority but to me the upper mid and treble seemed a bit loose and lacking. They will crank too!

You need to have a look around, there have been many members buy these and as yet no one has told me that they were disapointed with them only very happy.
Current RRP is $780 odd (too tired to look at the price list now) but they are heading to $829 odd July 1st due to a poor exchange rate between USD and Euro.

thanks.....i might just go with a new set of ESK's lol cos im yet to hear a set of speakers i like better (yes, i may be biased) but ive listened to DLS, Dyn, Focal, Morel, Alpine, etc and im yet to say "id buy a set of those"
thats not to say that they werent good or even fantastic but i suppose if you have listened to the same set of speakers for the last year or so you get used to them.....quite like a pair of shoes, sure the new ones are nice and trendy but they are just missing that something special that you are used to having every day
not that ive ever bought the same pair of shoes twice....i guess ill learn to love a new set of speakers.....might put up another "what speakers" thread in the general section
