II have been researching a 4-Way Diversity Antenna and a booster for the TV Tuner in the carputer.

I have a couple of questions for those in the know. I think I am right but need some backup before I shell out the $100. I have googled, I have emailed, I have posted but I still do not know 100% whether this will give me a good TV picture whilst moving.
- will this work with tinted windows?
- the antenna has an amplifier itself, can I run this signal to another amplifier? (amplify an amplified signal)
- will this receive Digital TV?
- is this the best option?

This is the antenna - 4 Way Diversity Antenna

And this is the booster - Booster

Does that boosted take in all the antenna plugs, and output to just a single plug?
If that does, then it might work alright. If it doesn't do that, and your tuner doesnt have the inputs for a diversity antenna, then it's of no use.

The antenna I was running when I had a digital tuner in my car sat on the rear shelf, and worked fine through the tint. But it's a struggle down this way to pick up reception in the car. I found it only really worked when I was parked on the bay, or up high.
In Melb it worked fine (not on the move though, except when I was driving ontop of the westgate tongue.gif)

Yes, the diversity antenna has 4 X 3.5mm plugs as the output. The booster has 4 X 3.5mm plugs as the input, and outputs with a single 3.5mm plug.

It's not from Brash Imports by any chance is it? I was looking at the exact same one then if it is but never ended up getting it.

I wouldn't run it through another amplifier. Once is enough.

In my research for antennaes, something like this was really the only option unless your tuner was capable of connecting to the diversity antenna directly. I'd give it a go mate.

I don't have an option, my TV Tuner only has a single ANT IN plug so I have to run the diversity antenna to something which will accept the signal. The booster box is the only thing I can find.

As above, the TV Tuner only has an ANT IN plug

Hi there,

I know this is an old thread, BUT did you end up using this system? I have the same prediciment that I have a tuner with a single input, BUT The antenna system that came with my car (from Japan) has a 4 way diversity antenna.

If the Brash unit was good, this was the path I was thinking of.

Cheers

I think u have misundstood it,

If you wanna watch digital TV at moving car for high speed, such as Speed over 230km/h min.

YOU MUST need Mobile DVB-T Receiver with Diversity which come with 20db gain DVB Antenna.

I didn't end up getting that antenna, in fact I am still using the crappy little 4" one that came with the TV Tuner card.

To be honest, I don't watch much TV on the carputer and neither do the kids, so I haven't put much importance on getting the picture fixed.
