Hi all

I have some engine noise coming through my system Im doing a full re install and a custom boot. I am running pretty cheap RCA leads ($10 - 12 each from memory) Can this be my issue? I have 2 x 8 guage power lines running from the battery for the amps, and the head unit (a high end clarion) is wired into the dash loom. Can you give me any pointers on running the wires, and what are good RCA leads for my setup (without spening $100 each, i cant afford it)

Current system specs:

Clarion head
clarion 3 way splits
soundstream 6.9
soundstream 360watt rms amp
1 x alpine typeR 15 inch sub
1 x lanzar heritage 2 channel 2 x 250watt rms @ 4 ohms (2 ohm stable 2x420W RMS)
1 x Lanzar 2.4 FARAD 24V Capacitor

run ALL cables seperatei.e. dont run RCA's with power or speaker cable, and dont run speaker cable near the power ect.

Make sure you have good solid earths, and upgrade your earths using "the big three" method (then you can ditch the capacitor).

Also make sure you havent run the RCA's or speaker cable near any electric motors.

If that doesnt work get yourself some twisted, balanced and sheilded RCA's

Best Value for money, whilst being very good quality are the Stinger Hyper Series RCA's ~ $35 for a pair of 5.2m leads

man your whole car is a return path, saying dont run them next to other cables doesnt do much...

your earths are key,

also, some amps dont like being screwed down to the chassis, so screw mdf firstm then the amp to that.
