I am after a setup for trance i want hard tight bass, but as most tracks will have a hover every now and then i don't want the system to sound empty. I not after a system that will shake the car, but i want to feel a bit of deep bass during these hovers. I really don't want to go down the 10inch/12inch sub route. I currently have pioneer ts-c160r splits up the front hooked up to a response 4 x 100w amp. Will running 2 x response 6.5inch kevlar cone woofer in a sealed box do the job?

Why not an 8" sub?

I have a 300zx, i can fit the 6.5inch where the stock rears are and build a box for it, I end up saving room and weight. I know what my pioneer 6.5 kevlar splits sound like free air and it doesn't cut it, so I was really just wondering if a boxed 6.5 can produce a more deeper bass. Otherwise i'll scrap this idea and use a big sub.

the 6.5 woofers wont really have a good enough response to play sub-bass.
if your trying to save money by going jaycar, look into one of their venom 8" subs, they require a small box, are relatively cheap, and like most jaycar car audio gear, excellent value for money.
edit; as mad mentioned, a dd1008 would also suit quite well.

2 x 8" subwoofers in 10-15 litre boxes sealed, with about 200-400W RMS each will serve up all your needs.
8" subwoofers are VERY fast, I started with 15" subwoofers many years ago, and slowly moved down through 12"s into 10"s and finally into 8"s over many years and I'm in love with there musicality, precision and lack of distortion.
The only thing is output is at best average compared to your usual 12" subwoofer setup.
But 2 8's will always be enough to fill out any system with more bass than neccessary for a flat response from 30hz up.
if your looking for heartstopping bass response then at minimum a couple of 10's or a 12" will be neccessary.
the 2 6.5" jaycar kevlars will be disapointing in terms of low bass output.
I wouldn't piss around with them to be honest, they will always sound like midbass drivers, because they ARE midbass drivers.
