Never had a chance to play with the TRA500.4, although I have a Van gogh 500.4 which is excellent, (although the Van Gogh is SQ specific/reference replacement of the time) I've had a bit of experience with the new chinese Tarantulas, and have to admit I was pleasantly surprised.

I wouldn't go with the picassos, they are a big jump downwards in SQ, although still Very solid performers.
Especially compared to other models in similar available price ranges overseas.

Sadly Soundstream in Australia, (through soundstream australia) tends to be priced upwards into competitive regions. Bought at the right price though, soundstream amps represent unbeatable value vs performance.

i used to have a TR880/2 (i think that was it..)

was pretty average. had always wanted one and was very dissapointed.
as for the others i wouldent touch them, the new stuff does nothing for me.
