While i was trying to decide where i could mount the sub amp in the jeep, an idea hit me:

i knew there's at least one good thing about the xplod monoblock tongue.gif

looks sweet but how do you get the spare out now?

I like it! Very cool idea indeed.

I havent decided how i am going to route the wires. I can put the tyre cover on and run the wires at the front (hidden between the cover and the tyre) so that you can easily pull the amp out if i need the spare...

The other option is to use a 4 guage andreson plug (and quick disconnetors for the sub wire and remote wire) that i can feed through the spoke of the wheel for the (odd) occasion i need to use my spare....

As far as air flow, I will be drilling a vent into the backplate so i can run a 12v pc fan for cooling.

Looks awesome!

Very nice idea and creativity!!

I vote, go the wires that disconnect, you hardly ever need the spare and it will just be annoying having an amp attached to the car whilst trying to get the spare out. If you can move it completely out of the way that will be better!
Pulse-R
excellent use of an odd-shaped amplifier.

thats a really good idea, altho a few years old, i can see this being a neat idea in somthing like a BA where u flip the alloy spare(as bob has done) and mount it in there. ive seen a small oddyssy batteyr been mounted in the back of the spare before. great idea.

no medication, just remember its only the work car....
I've liked the XMD-1000P5 since it came out and used one for about a year in the WRX only selling it to fund the SQ system i bought from middleman. I've bought 3 twelves to run from it when i can get the box made for them.

It's one of (if not) the only half decent Xplod gear.
