Buy a DMM and a True RMS Clamp meter.

I'm interested to see the results of this.

whilst playing a test tone, you want to measure the voltage out of the speaker terminals, and the current in the speaker wire (on AC).
Power (Watts) = Volts AC X Current Amps.

so 48V x 45A = 2160 Watts RMS.

If your meter is not True RMS, then reduce the calculated power by about 5% to get the RMS value.

another way to measure the current, if you don't have a clamp meter, is to put a 0.1 ohm resistor (marked 0R1 on it) in series with the speaker. This would want to be at least 20Watt resistor. then the measured voltage on the resistor = 1/10th of the amps, so 4.8V = 48Amps.

rofl.gif you're telling me.. where do people come up with these magic numbers and calculations ?

Especially when there's a tutorial telling you how to do it, and do the maths, correctly.
