Thanks for moving the other thread Pulse-R. smile.gif It was of interest to a lot of people, and it was probably just started in the wrong forum... thats where the wonderful Mods have to come in smile.gif

I think the big problem is that most people who are like myself arent really into SPL and have more of an interest in better SQ. This doesnt mean that they want to waffle on all day about technical terms (which frankly anyone can read on the net). Id say I was more interested in peoples experiences with bransds/driver positioning/eq settings etc. that can be used to acheive better SQ... now is that for 'General' or 'SQ' ?

In the beginning there was ... no, wait...

The thread seemed to start with good intentions, but like a lot of threads, didn't quite go the way it was intended. Perhaps a tighter definition was needed.

I'm sick of seeing so many "how do I get perfect SQ out of a 128kbps mp3" type threads in Sound Quality Discussion.

Definately dump those back to general discussion. Might be elitist here but fux sake, mp3 and any other compressed formats are NOT considered sound quality.
Pulse-R
well, yes and no.
Since it is not an "Advanced SQ" forum, then really....

besides, if all the threads about SQ and MP3 are shifted, then people asking aout the SQ of mp3/other formats will post new threads

A D’Appolito configuration consists of two woofers and a tweeter in between.

ie - a woofer-tweeter-woofer configuration if looking at the drivers from the front of a speaker and starting at the top tongue.gif
Pulse-R
D'Appolito has problems with lobing, but it solves a few other problems also.

not really practical in a car, as near field is poo with MTM's
Fudd
its still better than the array i was going to setup in my car.. would have been ok if i had a limo and they could judge from the rear!

after some reading on google i understand what MTM is.
My new setup is TmM with a spiral effect.
Big mids being the closest to on axis, small mids being less on axis and tweets being even less on axis. All drivers focusing in a upward effect.
Does this mean "if its workable" i gets called the zion config? tongue.gif .........cors
