Hi dudes, I have just finished installing a JVC KW-AVX700 unit into my R32. JVC have built in a "feature" that won't allow a viewable playback unless the handbrake is applied. However, it is also stated that the warning won't appear unless the handbrake and JVC unit are physically wired up to eachother.

The instructions say the following:
"If the parking brake is not engaged, "Parking Brake" appears on the monitor, and no playback picture will be shown. This warning appears only when the parking brake wire is connected to the parking brake system built in the car."

The funny thing is that I didn't hook the wire to the handbrake so the warning should be disabled. Furthermore, I am still getting the warning even when I do apply the handbrake.

I have been told that a one way to get around it is to earth the green hand brake wire rather than leaving it hanging at the back of the HU...??

Can anyone confirm the grounding will work before i start pulling the thing out again....??? Thanks...
