Hey guys, I was just chasing clarification,

I know power & rca's need to be kept separate,

but do high level ( speaker cables) cables need to be kept separate from either power or rca?

I understand that running left and right speaker wires together also can increase crosstalk through inductive coupling but is that a problem as well? I want to setup a SQ system running off an audison SRx3, which means I need to run my front stage cables to the boot.

cheers

Ben

I tried searching but I couldn't find any relevant answers

if you want to keep the cables separate, then run the speaker separate to all the rest. or withthe RCAs.

I never had any trouble running them all together

i run RCA's next to speaker wires from front to back and its fine, and at the rear my rca's cross paths with the power wires and run along side them,a nd i have no problems.

for peace of mind you could keep them all seperate. but if your wiring is quality it doesnt matter.

I had a bit of noise issue when running my RCAs next to power so i would avoid that

But i run power+left speaker up the left side of the car, rcas up the middle and right+factory look up the right

works great

inductive coupling between speaker wires will only occur if one or the other of the cables is shorted to the car body somewhere.. They are a balanced line, so any inductive pickup would be equal in the + and - of the speaker.

Same with Balanced or screened RCA's

I guess the best solution is to screen the noisiest unbalanced conducor (The power) - but a big screened cable is not practical, so we screen the smallest signal, which is the most susceptible to noise (The RCA). If you can afford good quality screened RCAs then you don't need to separate them.
