has anyone ever played with either of these, blaupunkt vpa 11500 2200rms at 2 ohms amp
or the blaupunkt velocity series 18in sub. i have got the sup and am getting the amp and would like to know if anyone has ever owned or heard of other people that have owned what they thought of either of them

you know what they say about blokes and larger subwoofers..... making up for size elsewhere...

but seriously I imagine that the combo would go pretty hard, even if it is different from the normal recommended DD combo.

i always wanted to go an 18 inch sub because i have never seen anyone else have one in a car (and i hate being the same as everyone else)

Blau VPW460 18" sub: 1800RMS 5400MAX (love to see that!)
The subs are DVC, and from my listings are dual 2ohm coils - makes a strange combo when their VPA11500 puts out 2350RMS @ 2ohm, and isn't 1ohm stable, while putting out 1500RMS @ 4ohm.....
The sub itself has RRP of $949, amp has RRP $999.
We had occasion to have one here (the sub that is) and it is HUGE - I had a Soundstream T4-15 on display and it dwarfed it (made it look like a toy!). The gent who ordered it is currently pulling just on 140db on one of the DBM-2 meters from E-Gear (PLUG FOR YOU ROB!) off a piece of cr*p amp underpowering by close to 800RMS.

so you think its an alright combo? i know that the amp isnt one ohm stable but for best bang for bucks for reasonably named brand i thought it might go alright. see later on if budget permits me (ie WIFE ) ill get a second amp the same.
the only thing with the amp is that its fuses are 300amp so ide say it would suck some power so it might be hard to have two of these amps.
