Hey all

Can anyone confirm for me whether a CDRW-DVD drive from an IBM T42 will fit and work with an IBM T60 (my laptop)? I think the 2 options are below. They seem to be the same (i.e. dimensions etc.), just wanted to double check cos i can't test before buying (2nd hand).

Or will both work?

Hoping one of you IT guys can help me out smile.gif

Thanks in advance

Ultra bay slim drive (with flat bezel)

Get two drives in one with this high-speed, high-capacity read/write storage solution. The ThinkPad CD-RW/DVD-ROM Combo Ultrabay Slim Drive (with Flat Bezel) combines all of the advantages of a DVD-ROM, CD-RW and CD-ROM into a single drive by allowing you to read DVD and CD media and create custom data CD's. This versatile optical drive is recommended for usage in the media bay found in the ThinkPad T60 and Z60t Series notebooks, the X6 Ultrabase, the X6 Ultrabase Tablet, and the ThinkPad Advanced Dock. Although this drive can be used in the media bay of the ThinkPad R60 Series and Z60m Series notebooks, the equivalent function 73P3275 ThinkPad CD-RW/DVD-ROM Combo Ultrabay Enhanced Drive is recommended for better fit. (Note: For the ThinkPad Z60m notebook we recommend the ThinkPad CD-RW/DVD-ROM Combo Ultrabay Enhanced Drive.)

I was working on a T60 the other week but didn't take any notice if the drive was the same as mine (a T43)

Confirm with IBM/Lenovo, thier support people are normally pretty good and should be able to tell you.

too late, got impatient and already bought the drive silly.gif

was a reasonable price, given the ~ $220-230 RRP

if it doesn't fit/work, look for it in the FS section laugh.gif

/me crosses fingers smile.gif

thanks guys.
