Hi everyone!

I am stoked after starting my Toyota which has been collecting dust after sitting idle for 6 months, I popped a charged battery in it and it started first turn of the key!

I'll post some details of the start of my project very shortly, I'm dropping the car off to get an engine conversion done tomorrow

Let me put it this way, it is going into my 93 Corolla but it might be interesting fitting it in there!

To you it is, this car I have to tone down a little because I need it to be legal as it is my daily driver... but to satisfy you we will be taking on a "little" project that will probably make you cream your pants

when i was locksmithing i opend and made keys to an xd falc that had been sitting in the same place for 7 months, started first go, and didnt need a new battery!

I bet that XD Falcon didn't have an alarm either? I was lazy and let the AGM battery in my car sulphate... meh

and it seems they are continuing the trend with the Borion.

400Hp should make for a more interesting machine. What is it and what's in it?

i'm guessing a very heavilly worked 3SGTE in the rolla... the 1JZ would be waaaaay too big n i don't think it'll be able to go fwd... am i close?? lol

his rolla is awd, that may give u guys a few more hints

im also guessin its a tercel wagon? either that or an expensive exercise to fit the GT4 running gear into the rolla....

You going to try a pulse rate charger on the AGM to get it back at all or is it too far gone? I got one of my batteries that wouldnt hold more than 10.2V back up to holding 13.8 by using a pulse width modulated charger. Im such a fan of PWM technology for chargers now.

yeah 3SGTE into the AE95 wagon me thinks

unless you have used AE95 running gear etc into a GTI hatch and then putting in a 3SGTE which would be pretty hard core

it'd be way too hard to put the AE95 running gear into the AE92... so i'm going with the 3SGTE into AE95 idea.... i actually wanted to do that... but i just hated the AE95's shape.... that's y i'm importing an SV25 out of japan

Ahh a few of the educated Toyota types got it, a 3sgte into the AE95 the rolla is actually getting a whole Celica GT4 drive train, gearbox diffs hubs etc etc.

The plan is to get the 3sgte in there and working, get the car painted (Paint has gone to crap) then get the stereo done and out of the way, once that is done I'll concentrate on squeezing 400hp at the treads out of it

yeah thats why when i had the choice of a toyota i went the hilux, 183kw, pushing 400nm torque and no weight over the tray. makes for one fun toyota

Well, let me see...

Front mount intercooler- check
Turbo Timer- check
Air fuel ratio/boost gauge- check
AGM batteries for rear battery setup- check
3sgte Celica GT4 front cut- check

I'm not sure about doing forged internals at the start, I would like to but it is a $$$ thing as is a bigger turbo and the fueling system to keep up.

saw this yesterday.... coming along nicely

I haven't dropped by Leon's workshop yet to see how it is all going.

Manny (One of Leon's work colleagues) came by the shop to pick up some parts yesterday and said it was comming together,, gearbox mounts are done, engine mounts should be done (they were being done today) front driveshafts were modified to keep the big brakes but with the original hubs.

Next week the tailshaft is getting modified and there should be a new diff/rear end going in and discs in the rear, exhaust and intercooler piping is going to be fabricated next week.

I'm getting a little excited

if it was me i would'v kept it original... since the corolla came with the A engine instead of the S... i'd get a 4AGZE n turbo it... won't get u as much power as a 3SGTE but at least u'll get points for keepin it original... but i guess it's up to your personal preference... but good on ya man going different with AE95... SLEEPER

No pics I am afraid but it looks like it is coming along well.

Should be on the road in about 2 weeks time

I'll drive it for a month or so and see how it goes, then get it painted and once I get used to having the extra horses under the bonnet I'll put a bigger turbo on it, after market computer, bigger injectors etc etc

The intercooler might look funny though, it is going to be sticking out like dogs balls

I think I could hose through the cash if I had more of it, I think I spent about $3k on golf equipment since Christmas last year... yikes!

A very close friend is trying to convince me to buy another project car too, we both think it would be a shame to weigh this one down with a stereo, so there could be something else on the go by the end of the year

Aparently it was a good comp, without thinking too much about it I scheduled another event for that weekend.

The Mighty Pounder, A weekly ritual. (I still win with my 1.5 punder, Biiiatch! )



And, The Double Debo's Burger (This was lunch, He had a garlic prawn entree before this aswell - And lots of Heineken and Bourbon)

It was actually a main course garlic prawn and jasmine rice dish that I had as an entree... I think that debo's burger takes the cake it was something like 750g of meat patty alone!

Well I guess a few people might be after an update...

The car started again tonight... with the NEW ENGINE!

It cranked over for a while and then started first turn of the key

The only mechanical bits to tidy up now is the rear differential conversion so that the ratio matches the front, and along with this will come a rear end disc brake conversion and an LSD

So after it is up and running I'll drive it for a little while and then it will cop a paint job

And when the paint job is done, the stereo is in and all is going smoothly I'll drive to Kal and have another Debo's burger

Still a lot of work to go, but it is getting there!

So to all of those out there that might have doubted me on this... well all I can say is that I told you so!
