building another comp for another cuz, a question about overclocking here for core 2 duo, i gotta e4300 overclocked to 3ghz, temps are 45 under load running prime95, but the vcore is 1.47, is that safe for a core 2 duo,i can get it to 2.6ghz on stock voltage, but i wanna hit 3ghz, am i safe running 1.47 vcore.

check on overclockers.com.au
they are nuts about this stuff....i do vaguely remember reading that a few were running vcore around 1.44, but that may have been the e6300, not e4300.
telling them what ram and motherboard you have will also help - as its not always safe to overclock if these arent up to the task.

Being only new to overclocking i can't really say for sure, but 1.47 does sound awfully high to me... I'd say you are shortening the life of that CPU quite significantly. Temps are good though. What's the highest stable clock you can get on 1.35v? What about 1.40?
