Neither do we unless you give us more information or pictures....

^^x2

trying playing with the positioning of the subs in the boot
Billy aka Shakes
it will appear louder with the windows down as when the car is able to vent air outside it also allows air flow through the car to flow quicker from the subs.

hense with SPL cars like mine with the doors shut i can get a reading of 152 with the drivers door open i can then get a 153 reading. but yeah hope that may help ya.

but information like:

your subs positioning.
if its ported the directing the port is facing.
the dirrectiong the subs are firing and what they are loding onto.

some of that will help for a better response to.

cheers billy

The SPL car my friend and I built gains with the windows up?

Have you actually had the car on a meter to see if it really is louder with the windows down?

Sometimes what we percieve to be louder isn't.
BlackIce
I always found my lower tuned daily driving boxes were louder with the windows open.. the higher (meter) tuned boxes were quieter with the windows down. IMO its to do with transfer function and the Fs of the cabin in relation to the boxes tune.

Or it might just be all in your head wink.gif

Got some more info for us?

Like........

Box Size?

Ported or Sealed?

If ported, how much port area do you have? (measure opening Width x Height)

Again if ported, how long is the port?

What way do you have the subs facing (I'd assume straight up, those boots are tiny) and if ported is the port on the same face as the woofers?

What is the wiring like? (Guage for power run, earths etc)

What Battery have you got?

Fill us in with answers to these questions and then we might be able to help you out. smile.gif

PS: Try using some basic grammar when asking for help, it's the least you can do.

My ute could gain anywhere upto 3dB with the door or window open just the right amount.. Tried and tested on our Termlab numerous times. This was at 43hz though.

Bah, I wasn't asking you tongue.gif I was asking the starter of this thread, who doesn't seem too interested in our help. nea.gif
