I forgot to introduce myself and my setup!
I'm Peter/Pete or whatever, and I'm always easy enough to find - the quiet dude hiding off in a corner somewhere...my competition history has sadly been limited for a bunch of reasons. The only event I competed in was roughly two years ago at the No Limit, where I placed around 6th in ameteur street (around middle field). I competed back then with what was my first complete system consisting of:
*Pioneer DEH-P5650 head unit
*Morel Pulse splits running off an ARC 2100-XXK
*IDMAX 12 running off an Audison SRx2S
Solid enough gear, but unfortuantely I managed to get my tuning way off before the event - I put that down to inexperience.
Since then I've been going through gear and setups faster then J-lo has gone through husbands, and have gained a great deal more experience in the process.
As in the past, this year I'll again be limited by time and income thanks to work full time study, but I've already made sure that my Sundays are free for the competitions. Thanks to financial and time limitations brought on by study, all year long my system will mostly be a work in progress, and a test mule for the major vehicle upgrade I have planned at the years end.
Firstly if you are intimidated by my sig, don't be. The "installation in progress" title is very true to itself, and at the moment that setup is only 50% completed at the most. I own all of the gear listed, nut only some of it is actually in my car, and the setup itself still far from finished.
I'm going to keep my actual competition gear / setup a secret for the time being, for the sake of a bit of extra fun. The event itself will serve as my 'official' unveiling of my new look setup (or at least part 1 of it) and after the event is finished I will update my own thread in the rides section with details and images of the setup in it's current state.
What I will say is that there will be some Rainbow gear in there, and the car
will be available for audition to anyone who hasn't heard Rainbow, or who's just interested in listening to it.
Given it's current state of completion, I'm pretty happy with it's performance but that said, I can hear that it's still nowhere near it's potential.
I was umming and ahhing over whether to compete in Ameteur Street of Pro Street, and have decided to go in the latter because:
1) I love a tough challenge, and Pro class will force me to compete at a higher level
2) Pro classes are always short of competitors
3) I don't want to intimidate new competitors with the cost of my gear
Hope to see a bunch of you are the event, and in advance I wish the best of luck to all of the years competitors

i am planning to enter am street this year, however am a little dubious nwo that i can see what im up against... i thought am would be more am than it is

haha
Don't be concerned. From memory Mad89 dominated last year against some much more expensively equipped competitors - just goes to show it's not just what you have, but what you do with it.
If you win you get a trophy and a smile... if don't win you get to hear the winning cars, and get tips from pros on how to improve your score for the next event. Usually the advice is very valuable, and if you take it you're almost guaranteed to signifnicantly improve your score (and sound) next time around.
You really can't lose!
