Give the man a cigar! Yep it's a five inch voice coil.

It was photographed with the motor assembly off so you can see the voice coil.
The second photo has the motor assembly attached.

Seeing as this is a production version, are there any indications of TS specs etc?
I'm interested in how these would compare to my PG Ti 12D Elite
At least I might be able to save a bit on boot space. Or maybe I should just get a bigger car.

No idea on pricing.... but what about some specs?

Having been blown away by Morels before, I can tell that simplistic looks do not betray the beast within. I have no doubt this one will be an industry leader in Australia.
And that Voice coil looks almost as big at the Phase Linear Aliante LTD. Talk about following in the footsteps of greatness....
master_luke
Feb 28 2007, 08:23 PM
what sizes are they due to come out in? just 10's or 12's?

When you consider that the Elate 6 has a 3" voice coil it is no wonder that the 12" sub has a 5" voice coil.
Price at this stage is speculative $599 to $799.
I just have spoken with Morel Israel tonight and they have said they will get me some specs on email tonight so I will post them here as soon as I get them.
Product will NOT be available ex factory for at least four weeks so a good 8 weeks plus before they are here.

At this stage just SVC 12" but this may change.

So they did end up going with the carbon fibre cone instead of paper. Still looks good, but it doesn't fit in with the looks of their component speakers.
