Wow, what a night. 30 competitors making it the best turnout to a Victorian event (possibly Australia wide) yet.
The location was fantastic other than the cold wind, and for the first event in Victoria for the 2007 season competition is fiercely close already!
The results:
Amateur StreetAmateur ShowPro Street Pro ShowBest Presented VehicleMost ImprovedJudges ChoiceEncouragement AwardHuge thanks to all the sponsors, to Phatt Audio for their hosting and hospitality, and the many competitors and spectators for making a great night. Thanks to Danny for taking care of entries, and of course Ness & Robyn for taking care of all the score tallying etc.

Was my pleasure Marc, glad I could help out and sorry I couldn't stay to the end. If you need any help with registrations or what not in any other rounds just let me know, i'm more then willing to help out.
Great turnout too, collecting entries gave me a chance to meet a lot of the new guys, and learn about their cars and have a listen to some.
Congrats to all the winners, and well done to monkey man (Cory) who's system cant sound as bad as he thinks considering the 5th placing. Just fix the phasing issues and your car should be able to stage a lot better.
Thanks to Marc, the judges, the sponsers, and especially Sam and Brett (I guess Joe Wog should get a mention too) at Phatt

See you all at the next round/event/tuning/whatever

'twas a good day everyone.
Great turnout

Of course that meant it did drag on a little long. It was first night event and I quite liked the atmosphere this created, but it would have been good to be out of there a couple hours earlier.
Thanks to judges, organisers, sponsors - got some good ideas from Rob and Lachie. And once again plenty of motivation to keep in it all after seeing many of those cars.
So after all that, I think I've made a successful return to the comps on many levels.

Was a great day. glad to know my sweat over the last few months seems to be for the better.
see you all next round
thanks to all the organising/judging/catering teams and Phatt for a good (although breezy) venue. At least we had plenty of parking for everybody - many many more competitors then I expected to see.

Was a great day, even if it was cold! I got some great feedback from the judges (Bruce and Andrew), so hopefully next round there'll be an improvement. That being said, I'm STOKED with my 4th place, after not doing so well last year! Thanks to all management/organisers/judges - must have been hard for you guys, it being the first comp, and all of us spread from one end of Heland Place to the other ROFL

Great turn out guys!
Good to see the regulars as well as a few new guys. Some interesting changes have been made by a lot of competitors in the off season!
Big thanks to Phatt for suppling the venue, to the sponsors for helping make season '07 happen and most importantly HUGE thanks to all you competitors for turning up even in the rain and cold and making this meet a huge success!
Couldnt believe how many cars were in Pro Street! huge numbers which is good to see! Would like to see a few more in Am Show though
Keep up the good work guys!

What a great start to 2007!
The weather was looking pretty average just a couple of hours before the comp was due to start with black clouds and heavy rain .... but it cleared up in time for the start so none of us got wet .... although it was a bit on the cool side.
As mentioned a huge turn out of competitors which was great to see.
I liked how we didn't need to shuffle cars into the "Judging Bays" as in previous years .... instead the judges moving from car to car seemed to work a treat .... so much less hassle.
Was great to catch up with everybody again after such a long time

A big thank you to all the sponsors, judges, helpers, organisers, fellow competitors and also Phatt Audio Concepts for hosting the event.
Can't wait for the next round

thought i'd finally post up seeing i've got time on my hands as i had a busy day after the comp.. lol..
what can i say.. first comp of the 2007 and was it a big turnout.. i feel that caasq (or future measq?) working with dbdrag really gets the numbers... but was a good day overall, altho a little on the freezing side.. but hey.. its melbourne.. 4 seasons in 1 day..
adam (nemesis) and i copped major rain on the way down, only to end up with clearish skies and sun.. and cold wind..
big thanks to the boys at Phatt for providing the venue, the bbq, and the fart machine which received many crack ups.. lol..
also thanks to the sponsors for getting behind the new season.. and the competitors for making it what it is today... altho i am not competing this year.. as my current setup isnt what i want.. what i want is in progress and might urge me to compete again.. with a different focus.. but am show is lacking any real show.. well done to chris for battling the weather conditions to do the full show setup.. good effort.. was a disapointment not seeing all show cars opened up in full show form.. would that be because of the new rules? i'd better look..

the cold was worth battling, as the day was very good.. altho long.. i got home at 2am.. but was worth it.. cant wait for the next one..

well it was my first comp since the wagga incident (so really its since qualifit 2005, yep its taken that long to build this car) and was great to catch up with a few of the old blokes, and meet a few new ones
was a great event, very long obviously but with that many cars no wonder, the more the merrier really but i was like a zombie by 1am
still can't believe the placing, but i guess that just means everyone will overtake me next round, haha. though my work is complete considering Bruce finally called it
'OK' so i'm happy

Interesting.
My SQ was 96/125 and came 7th, so this musta been a seriously tight comp!
Assuming everyone above me had full points for safety, then there must be an equal placing up there somewhere...
(Congrats Adam n Alan by the way!)

Thanks jbs

There was an equal placing .... Adam & I both scored 110/135

I got full points for safety where Adam missed by one point .... but won on countback because he scored an extra point in his SQ section.
Looks like this class is off to a very close start

Was a great turn out, it's a shame I couldn't stick around for long, but got my car judged non-the-less, it was a great turn out with great numbers, a big thanks to Phatt for hosting the event, and the bbq thanks to the judges for all the feedback and man there was quiet a few people in pro show thats for sure!
Thanks to Marc and all of the orginizers for making things run smoothly, and thanks to the photographer (Damo). It was good catching up with people again its been a while, congratulations to all the winners/runnerups great efforts indeed and also to Chris who set up that big display- well deserved win!
I look foward to the next round, hopefuly I can address some of the issues with the feedback I got from the judges and get up to a competitive level, see you all next round.
