so im looking into buying a new car (maybe) but i want to know how much different cars get average out of the tank, if you could vote and then maybe say car model + name - kms - how many litres it holds. at the moment i get 450 on average out of a 35litre tank (thats driving sensible)
mac_man_luke
Toyota AE92 Corolla - 200-250Km - When gauge is on empty and the fuel light on for a while i get about 30-35L in the tank but its meant to be a 45 or 50L tank
1point21gigawatts
VW golf 2002 (manual - helps with the fuel)
600 odd k's (low rpm driving)
55L tank

450k's is pretty darn good from a 35L tank.
mad89
1994 Holden Nova/Toyota Corolla - ~450 - 50L tank

if ur getting 450 out of 35L stick with that, but maybe ur tank is 55L rather than 35? double check?

best i've gotten...
1991 mazda wagon 555km 48L (highway driving..between melb and sydney)

average
1991 mazda wagon 400-480km 48L city/highway
trism
my laser, i think had a 45litre tank..

best i got was 650km highway/freeway driving

avergae was about 450-500
lukiez
the golf is pritty impressive making 600kms, yeh my tank def is a 35litre tank, its a 1.5l engine, checked in manual.. most ive ever paid for petrol is $43 for full tank, normally around $38 to fill up

mac_man_luke : is the 200 - 250 driving sensible, because that seems very low to me
20Hurtz
n16 nissan pulsar i think i have a 40 or 45 L tank. when i fill up (after fuel light comes on) its usually ~37 litres. driving concervativly I get ~490km driving higher rpm ~450. but this is mostly crusing at 100 i don't do a great deal of city driving anymore.

1998 EL Ford Wagon - 300-350 (generally, normal driving I guess) - 60L tank roughly, gets filled at 3/4 empty, takes 40+ litres to fill sad.gif

2003 BA Ford Wagon - 500k's (Has a fuel range on the speedo area) - 60-70l tank
Gonadman2
My trip computer is saying 16.9L/100km (around town) so that is around 443km out of the 75L tank.

On a trip back from Perth we stretched it out to 11.8L100km which is pretty damn impressive considering the speed and load we had aboard, and the fact that it is displacing a prehistoric 6L of capacity!
Sierra
1995 Falcon XR6 - 65 litre tank

500 ~ 510 Km around town

650 ~ 700 Km on a trip

On the trip up to Wagga and back last year I averaged 8.8L/100 Km

Yea those XR6 Tickford motor's were awesome. My bro's EF XR6 was such an awesome car, even for its age it was a more enjoyable drive than my AU XR8 we compared it to.
Pulse-R
I drove to Wagga and back last year on one tank.
power_253
450kms out of 63L in an 82 v8 commodore. it was out of tune though so it could have got maybe 470-480. that was with a trimatic 3 speed too so i'm sure a manual would of been even better.

EDIT:mix of round town and highway driving with a light foot.

VT 6cyl does ABOUT 500km per tank(varies from 10.5L/100km to 12.5L/100km), has a 75L tank apparently but only ever managed to put 68-69L in it.
krisisdog
1995 Falcon EF Futura 5sp - should be a 65 litre tank like Sierras.

I get up to 550km around town with a little bit of highway driving, and down to 450 if I'm pushing it.

Havent done a long trip with it yet, but I would suspect it would go a fair way, I did 80kms to Coffs, drove almost 50kms in Coffs, and 80km back. So thats around 210km, and all it used was a quarter of a tank - from half to 1/4.
Pretty good considering it would have averaged about 2500rpm, and at 100kms its on 2000rpm.
nemesis
~250km's of 98octane from a 70L tank...much less if i'm feeling moody unsure.gif

company car is pretty good though, Egas BAII gets around 750km from its 110L tank

^^^ Fill-up must hurt Kirky...
trism
but then think he only has to do it half as often as the rest of us folk....
Louie
But he has to fill up twice as much. I don't know if it's much of a difference in cost really. It would be different if the tank was smaller
trism
^^ thats my point Louie... itd be different if he was going thru a 110l tank in 400-500km.....

but he isnt... so even though it seems like alot at that time, its really only the same as everyone else overall...
~Sparkles~
Pfft like I care the company pays for my fuel
ReMiX
In reality the patrol is doing 7.73 Km/L and 12.94L/100KM, Assuming each fill up of 110L tank gives exactly 850KM.

Thats not bad at all for a vehicle that size.
HISPL
With the old motor I used to use 90l (2 tanks) driving between Perth and Kal (660kms give or take) sitting on 120kmph with the aircon on and a heap of gear in the car.

I can't wait to see how the car goes with the new motor, should be interesting wink.gif

The thing used to rev it's box off, 4500rpm in top at 120kmph sad.gif
Luke352
Ford Fiesta 2006 3dr manual 1.6L, 42L tank, 540km if I'm being pedal happy and upto 620km on long drives but I average 580km a tank 7.2L/100km, and thats a mix of highway and town driving.

The last car I had though was a XC barina the last of the opel built ones and it didn't matter how you drove it, it nearly always averaged right on 6L/100km.

400-450km per tank, if i've had a bad day or just feel like driving hard, 250km per tank.

Open roads 650-700km per tank

I average about 420 - 450km's a tank from a ~60L tank in a VN Calais V6.

Open roads about 600.

I average about 600 km per tank around town 700 km if doing country (52 litre tank) in my VW Jetta FSI. But I suffer from lead-foot-itis.

In my Starion I can get 200km or 700km per tank, depending on the boost and right foot settings. smile.gif

In the E46 I get around 650.

My partner's new X5 is the best, 900 or so, averaging 8.8l/100km. Go the diesel!

I went to toowoomaba and back, 500kms filled her up to just below full drove there and back and tank was on half. i think that a good effort. my dads falcon got passed syd from the GC (like 1000kms) on one tank

gee, no option for 140 kilometres to the tank? Then again, if I multiply my tank size up to 60 litres, then I would be getting 1,680 kms which you don't have an option for either.

Oh, wait a minute, you mean cars, not little 50cc scooters!

Seriously, you can understand why I ride a scooter to and from work with the figures my car gets.

Car: Sigma 1986 2.6 litre manual - modified.

Tank: 60 litres.

Range: 370km's leaving 6-8 litres in the tank. (city) and 530 kms leaving the same in the tank in the country.

Of course I get much better figures if I drive it sparingly. But tearing up rear tyres is too much fun!
Hens
Car: 2002 rx7

Tank:65L

Range: 400-450 if I baby it most of the time. Probably dip to around 300 if I was to give it a good thrashing for most of the tank. With an after market computer if I have some of the richness tuned out, I could probably see about another 20-50kms out of a tank.
ar3nbe
Car: Mitsi TJ Magna Sports

Tranny: Manual

Tank: 70L (might be 71, cant remember)

On average i get just over 500km to the tank. Thats city driving. Can get 800 if its all highway.

Any just for the record. Its how MANY[u] km's do you get out of your tank not how much km's do you get out of your tank
TehHamsteh
Jeep Cherokee 1996 - I get under 300kms from my 60L tank. It IS gas though and a 4.0L I6 plant so I'm not too worried. Plus my weekly driving is plenty of short trips, crud on fuel economy.
~thematt~
On a 56 litre tank, Ive stretched to over 700km's before. Toyota Corolla Sportivo, country driving.
Scand0

I'm dissapointed if I don't get 850Km out of my 80L with a record of 975km (on a run from Brisbane to Mussewelbrook) Damn these gas guzzeling 4x4s are distroying the planet!

My old mazda 626 was heavier on fuel...
