As i understand it, due to commitments the SPL guys have on the day, this will ONLY be a SQ event.
Would it be possible for someone to bring down a Termlab/Laptop/Software so that those who wish, can have a run on the TL? I know there are quite a few locals who were hoping to go SPL, simply to see what numbers they pull on a 'real' meter...There could be a fee per TL run too, with funds being donated to MEA?
Ideas/Suggestions?
In any case, hope to see many of you down there!

Thank you most sincerely, Adam, for putting all this together. I've had some computer issues and been fairly flat stick at work so haven't had opportunity. I do wish that the SPL could be incorporated, but can understand when things come up. Means some detuning of the sub, but I'm still very excited. Looking most forward to meeting all who can attend, and listening to some quality setups!!

Yes.. you can.. i didnt compete at round 1, and starting my season at round 2..
ok guys.. there'll be a 3 stage convoy happening..
from eastside (sierra, domza, phatt boys, etc)
to northside (me, adam's car)
to westside (marc, simon, etc)
to ballarat..
what times do we need for travelling?
shiny_car
May 13 2007, 12:25 PM
probably need some specific meet-up points to determine timing. are the 'eastside boys' prepared to make 2 stopovers to meet up with the others?
fury
May 13 2007, 12:26 PM
Damo, do you have further details of meeting points?
I know there are a few new guys who would like to come up and would prefer to cruise with us then by themselves, but if they're not "in the know" they wont get the details.
Cheers

thats what im trying to work out.. how long between stages and go from there..
i know sunbury is bout 30mins tops from me..
and i heard its about an hour to ballarat from there..
so, i'd probably say we'd have to meet at thomastown bout 7-7:30? yikes... long day alert.. i'll have 4 cars guaranteed with me..
[edit 2]
I think Simon and i are going to be organising a meet point at MELTON which is probably easier for everyone..
once confirmed, either of us will post up..

May 13 2007, 05:47 PM
from sunbury, best to then go to melton and get on the fwy to go straight through to b'rat
melton > b'rat is ~45-50mins
a straight run from melb > b'rat is ~1.5hrs

OK guys as well as having the usual SQ event this week end we will also be having an SPL test and tune day. (sorry can't use the words dB Drag Racing)
as discussed with Marc we will be charging $10 for unlimited runs all day on term-lab. Grat chance for newbies to get in and have a go as we will have a few of the regular boys there giving out advise and tips thru out the day.The $10 will be donated in some form of way to our late friend Adam Smith. (Marc to advise)
For the SQ boys Marc will be giving out an award for the loudest SQ set up for SPL and EGEAR will kindly be giving away an SPL meter as an encouragement award.
For a first timer their is nothing to be embrassed about in giving it a go this week end and for the regular compeditiors heres a chance to see if you can find that extra decibel or two!!! (see i didn't use dB

)_
we will be kicking off at around 9:30am and it would be great to see some new faces and don't be shy to ask questions or even to introduce yourself.
Also i would like to thank the PHATT boys for lending me their term-lab and laptop for the day.
CHEERS
hope to see you all there

After talking with Damo this morning, the following has been decided (plenty of choices)
Meet 1:
Meet at: Repco Thomastown (its on the corner of settlement & dalton roads, thomastown)
directions:
You'd most likely be coming along the ring road, city-bound, so take the DALTON ROAD turnoff.
Once at the lights, turn left onto dalton road.
Go straight thru the huge roundabout, and take the next driveway on your left (you'll see the repco) and park in front of repco.
Meet at 6:30 to 6:45 for 7am sharp departure.
Meet 2:
Meet at Melton Maccas (Melway 114 H10) This is right (north) off the Western Freeway at the Coburns Road exit.
7:15-7:30 meet
departing 7:45am sharp.
from here we go to Ballarat. About 45 minutes to 1 hour drive.
we figured it was easier than trying to convoy all the way down through the back roads. Also allows a bit for east-siders if they don't want to go as far north as Thomastown.

I'd like a 1.75" thick eye fillet steak cooked medium rare served on a patte of bubble and squeak with pan jus laid over the top and a nice dark beer to go with it.
