Thought I'd better get an official thread up about it.

After the sucessful opening rounds, the third event of the 2007 NSW CAASQ Sound Quality Competition season has been announced so get your cars all sorted, tuned and improved for this upcoming round. We've opted to hold this CAASQ event away from the shop for two reasons. The first is to bring the events focus back to its roots; car audio enthusiasts getting together to chat, listen, compare and compete. The second is that last year it was so successful that we had trouble fitting all the cars in our parking lot!

Registration for the competition starts at 08:00 and judging begins at 10:00 sharp. Entry fee is $35 for all classes. The planned order of events for the SQ side of the day are:

* Amateur Street Class
* Amateur Show Class
* Pro Street Class
* Pro Show Class
* Award presentations

As per usual, during the middle of the day there will be a BBQ with both food and drinks available but with a difference. The way we operate the BBQ is this; Fhrx Studios pays for the food and drink but we ask for a gold coin donation (or more) that we then forward to different charities. In the past we have supported everyone from the Guide Dog Association, the Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children to Anglicare.

The important details are:
When: Sunday 27th May, 2007
Where: Stuart Park. This is behind Wollongong North beach and comes off George Hanley Drive. The map below is marked with a small circle.
Time: We get there around 08:00 to get undercover tables and a couple of BBQ’s etc. Anytime after that though is fine – finish is usually around 17:00-18:00. We do stay back to chat and mingle though.
Cost: Entry to the sound off is usually $35.
Security: Thieves and dishonest people are not welcome and for the ones amongst us thinking of coming down to steal something – we’ve been through it before and trust me; security is one aspect NOT overlooked (that is about all we ever say in writing).

Everyone is welcome! The thing to remember is the day is always a lot of fun so please come along, spend time with fellow audio enthusiasts and support our industry. It doesn't matter whether you have never attended, come along and meet everyone - most are quite friendly and don't bite. Judges are also more than happy to help you tune the car before the competition starts.

Sound quality competition judging discs are available for purchase from Audio Discs.com.au and the rules and leaderboard for the 2007 NSW CAASQ Sound Quality Competition can be found here. biggrin.gif

Note; special discounts will also apply to any car audio products ordered from Fhrx Studios on the day.

Damn man, all these people being out make me almost want to pull out.. i'd feel wrong up-ranking by way of competition forfeit.

How will all of the local boys be getting up thre? I've no idea in the world of the 'gong so I'll probably need some kind of lead to follow down.
MRVJ
just goto where civilization doesn't exist, then go abit further then you will come the civilization called Wollongong
Fhrx
We're relying on you Gongites to attract the local crowd. smile.gif

Forfeit? naa, mate theres no way that everyone will be at every round, so getting points one round and maybe missing another is gonna be inevitable. I've got a feeling that come the finals, every point that can be had will be needed.

Where you from Muzzy? I know the gong and will lead if you like.

Whats the route you plan on taking?
muzzy66
Oopsy just noticed the 'convoy' thread!

Will move there smile.gif

what happened??!?!?!!

id be devastated...
mad89
omg. are you joking me unsure.gif

No joking.

I swear the car is invisible. So many times everyday I'm 'merged upon', have someone tail gating. This was a tow ball incident in a car park, I wasn't even around to see it. So it's an 'at fault' claim against me.

Devastated no. Words suitable are not suitable for this forum.

Was looking forward to this round, have made some serious changes and hoping to reap some high points.

damn man! come up any ways. u dont need a front bar. if ur gonna hit a roo then its all over and no front bar means no one can break it!!!!

ill be strugglign to get there. car is playing funny buggers and doesnt want to run very well. ignition problems. i strive to have it fixed by the time it comes around. if not! im pushing.

Marty and others id also like to point out. where ur green dot is on the map. is not the carpark. mearly some gravel on the side of the road. that white unmarked road up and to the left of the mark is where all the parks are. that sorta light coloured green spot in the middle of the darker green thats the best spot. right next to the footy oval and the dunnies. bbq's are scattered about.
data_mine
If it was only the front bar I'd be there for sure. But there's a hole in the air con condensor and radiator. I think my trans and oil coolers are ok however.
Fhrx
Bugger!!!!
mad89
Guys, just to confirm, this is the carpark that we are planning on comandeering...

So as many of you that can get here fairly early would be great, to help us double park in some of the spaces, so that no one else (picnic-ers) try and steal our spaces tongue.gif

In Marty's Map, its the RED circle below, and u can see the driveway, which comes off the strip...

Contact Details, in case anyone gets lost...
Jono/Poisoner = 0423 324 925
Billy/SH00KU = 0406 145 597

Sunny and 19 degrees is the predicted weather wink.gif Should be a great day...

See yas there smile.gif
muzzy66
Spewing.. this has all the hallmarks of an incredible day, and I would have really loved to make it down especially being at the Gong'... the different scenery would have been a fresh change. sad.gif

Be sure to take as many piccies as possible, and all of the absolute best of luck to all competitors - with so many people out we will see some major rank changes on the leaderboard which should make things interesting.

My brother was also close to making the event with his car, but was sadly unable to get the day off work. With a bit of luck we should both be at round 4.

If only an invisible car was the problem - that would be easilly fixed by painting it hot pink and turning your stereo up louder!

Problem is, a percentage of people on the road simply do not deserve the right to be there.

Some are selfish, some arrogant, some blind, some lack reflexes, and some are just plain stupid.

I won't even get started on bus drivers in the Sydney CBD...
Wh33lzz
I'll be there bright and early, cars all tuned ready to go.. Im pumped!
gonebust
I'll be there...prob bearly on time. Im tired and going to sleep. Do some tuning when i get there.
