Hey guys, not sure if this is the right section for it, tho i just noticed the new site and thought i would share. (feel free to move it if need be wink.gif ).

The new Alpine Website is now up.
http://www.alpine.com.au/

After reading the last thread about the 2007 USA Range, here:
http://www.mobileelectronics.com.au/forums...showtopic=77365
i suppose its a bit more 'official' now about what ended up coming to AUS and what didnt...

after reading about how the V12 amps were apparently going to be discontinued, im pleased to see them still going and listed on the website... smile.gif

few other things i noticed after a short dig around on there: theres, New Type X splits, and also the Type E range must now be available here? New PDX amps (a smaller mono, and a 4x100 4ch) and also more V-Power amps...

IVA-D310E stays... there doesnt seem to be an upgraded model... i suppose 'if it aint broke, dont fix it' wink.gif

Type S subs have gone to a Black cone, rather than their Silver/Aluminium/whatever, from last year...

Bass Engine Pro, seems to have made a come back (tho i dont think its called that anymore?)... in the CDA-9887, has 7 band graphic OR 5 band Parametric EQ, 6ch time allignment, and 2 or 3 way crossovers, seems to be the only model with it tho...

Feel free to discuss/comment...

I'm happy the V12 amps are still a current model too. smile.gif

The multiplier function for the x-over is extremely handy for active x-over duties and is not something that can be found on V Power or PDX amps.

The new range looks pretty good, the thing that I am MOST interested in the the PXE-H650 processor smile.gif

Looks like the 9885 will be for me, 9857 with better features and cheaper price!

I wanna know the price for the 9887! [edit: from a rough estimate and calculation i would think the 9887 is around ~$699]

$269 is pretty steep for the usb adapter though.

But at least the Aussie site has a description of the products unlike the US that doesn't really state any of its specifications

The iDA-X001- looks cool though
Riley.
yeah i saw the pdx100.4 i think the other day aswell as the 600.1 mono

type E has been in JB for awhile....havent heard of anyone using it yet
Louie
Yea the iDA-X001 is a nice unit in person, I didn't get time to play around with it though, But I will probably have a proper look at it when I go back to Northfield this week

the only thing i really dislike about it, is the detachable face plate... you cant detach the lcd screen, only the button half of the face...

i think thats a bit stupid. you leave a 2.2" LCD screen sitting visible on ur dash, and someone is going to come and want to steal it.. hmm...

Just having a look through the Alpine web site, lots of nive looking goodies but why don't they have any spec's for any of the amps.

They are very happy to tell you about the technology and the prices but no spec's.
Louie
True, thats a pretty good catch there RMA. Perhaps seeing that the site has only just been upped, they either overlooked that area before uploading, or just havn't put them up there yet

Bit of a downer, though you can search elsewhere for the ratings of the amps lol
....
The V-12 amps are not in manufacture anymore.
They are only available as Alpine in Melbourne have a lot of leftovers that the couldn't sell in 2006

Proof....look at the USA market. The only V-12 amp left is the theatre amp

That is the idea of making lower powered PDX amps and higher powered V-Power amps....to fill the gap the V-12 amps left behind

As for the E series speakers...DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. They are complete garbage

The CDA-9887 has an RRP of $599

and yes...the imprint processor looks very interesting
Pulse-R
Still no info on the site how to put a full system together - like how all the bits can fit together...

That is what Alpine specialist dealers are for wink.gif
philz
nice... if the 9887 is 599, i would go for that. very nice unit for the price.

Seems like it will be out of stock for a while though.
Gonadman2
I reckon the 9887 will be at least $799...

I'm sure no dealer will be upset if you give them $200 over THE OFFICIAL RRP OF $599

Speaking of Apline Specialists I heard that one salesman at a Morley store had tried to knock a certain brand of speakers he did not sell by telling the customer they did not image as high as the Alpine product he stocked !

(The customer who was not an idiot later purchased the low imaging splits and was later taken to hospital with split sides from laughing so hard, he is expected to make a full recovery.)

I stand corrected on the Specifications, I did look before and found nothing but when I just checked again they were there.

As you can see, there is "No specific product info" yet.. Though they will most likely fix this one up, but just to show what was being talked about was actually true, I didn't imagine it lol
philz
I would also like to say the "specialist Alpine dealer, ie/ its not JB hifi, it is a reputable car audio shop, didn't have a clue what alpine model I wanted, he was actually pretty clueless.

I said I want the 9885 cause it has "biolite" and he just didn't say anything, I reckon i could've told him about the features and educated him about the Alpine products rather than him telling me lol.

I'd love to know where you get your information from. Alpine Australia made a conscious decision to continue V12 amplifiers in the market in 2007, and therefore made sure enough stock was available for this year's range.

I'm sure the guys are madly working on the website at the minute to fill in all the gaps that have been identified.

I've just sent it through to you

I got off the phone with Ben also and he confirmed $599 to me
I would be seriously asking Alpine what is going on if they are giving you higher RRP's than everyone else.
It will only make you look like a rip off by no fault of your own mate.
You should be reading my fax by the time you read this...

Is either going to be $269 or $299 rrp...
Pulse-R
ok, so my PC has a budget sound card, how will the KTX-100EQ work with the 60Hz and 16kHz roll-off?

no specs for this beastie either.

I think the new web site is great in looks and it works better than the old one, but really let down by the lack of info on new products.

Sound card is irrelevant...
The unit comes with its own "brain" box, microphone, and calibration CD
The computer is basically used as a display and to make changes
Actual input to the computer is data only....not audio (I think)
1point21gigawatts
Even a RRP of 299 sounds cheap for all of that ^^... But I sure as hell wont argue with the price tongue.gif

I would go with $299... although if I can get $399 for it my sales figures will look great and the boss would be happy tongue.gif

Ben told me it would be $299 wink.gif

Regarding the lack of info, IIRC last time Alpine updated it was much of the same. Im sure they will have it up in due time.
DRAGON@WORK

And I do believe it will be around the $700 mark yahoo.gif
Pity about the September thing though... sad.gif
DRAGON@WORK
Are you serious? $700!!! Thats crazy! I was expecting it to be upto $2.5K (going by the previous model)

If it is $700, then that is too good a price not to buy!!

Alpine Aus told me no price had been decided upon yet... is anyone in the know able to confirm if the new stacker is $700? biggrin.gif

So does anyone/ any alpine dealers know which models are out and you can buy?

Cause for headunits, my local one has the 9873RB and 9883E in stock, and doesn't have a clue when they other model's will arrive.

IDA looks tempting though...

IDA looks tempting though...

All the H/U's are available eacept the CDA-9887

New IVA screens are due anytime now....possibly by the end of this week

Speakers.....who cares

All amps are out now

Subs...???

Most electronicy sorta things are out except the imprint stuff and the USB interface
mad89
9885 is out at my local. it seems like a nice HU. the GUI has changed for the better over the 9857 (which is equivalent)...

no 9887 yet, and im a bit disappointed that the biolite screens are ridiculously small compared to previous models (i.e. 9835, 9855, 7998R etc)

other than that, +1 for the return of bass engine pro features (tho under a different name?) in the 9887...

smile.gif
philz
nic.e.. thanks essque and mad89, also do you know when the 9887 will be released? from previous posts... someone said August?

Mid to late June....no wait.....give me a second...

Oh yeah.....August rolleyes.gif
philz
oh well... the wait for the 9987 is a bit too long [needed a headunit ASAP], and I only need basic features.. I ended up getting the 9885, very nice headunit, much easier to use than my CD3000, should be plugging it in tomorrow.
Dogo
the downloadable product manuals seems to be lacking my CDA-9847 ??
HOLLYWOOD
Just a quick update for those who are interested; the CDA-9887 was released for sale this week.

The Imprint Sound Calibration Kit (KTX-100EQ) is due mid to late August.
Damo95
And i've put my order in for both.. wink.gif

anyone after a 9855r soon? tongue.gif
