What a fantastic day! the sun was shining and there was not the slightest bit of cold wind that we have been having down here for the past week. not so big of a turn out as the past two rounds. but still a great day.
Many thanks to the judges and to the organizers of the event. Billy for cooking the snags. this round went really smoothly despite being down on judges. was run very well.
Being a local i was happy with the turnout. unfortunately i wont be at next round but the way the last 3 rounds have gone ill have some fond memories.

Looks like the leaderboards have changed a bit!
Makes for a good year of competing

Yeah Jono, Wollongong threw on it's finest for the day, was brilliant weather, an absolute stunner of an Autumn day.
I'd also like to thank Billy for the Snag rolls and drinks, and thank the Judges for being so prolific on the day, it was a lot of work for them.
I thoroughly enjoyed the day, great company, great systems and a great result. Makes all the hard work worthwhile.
Thanks again Marty for throwing on a great comp, cant wait for round 4 and a bigger turn-out to make the competition even closer.
mmm.. some big changes for the next round for me, so Im hoping all the big guns are there for comparison

Congrats on what was (I'm sure) a very well deserved result.
From first round to second my car improved a hell of a lot, with a jump from 13th/16 cars (round 1) to 5th / 20+ cars (round 2).
The improvements I've made since are more significant then ever, so that made it all the more annoying that I wasn't able to make it to this one.
If all goes well, hopefully I'll be able to apply a more little pressure come round 4

109 was top score in am street 3 points down from last round. where 112 was top spot at round 1 117 was top. judges are marking harder i think to give a more accurate results. i found it to be very consistent today. i don't care if a 7 last round is a 6 this round. its between cars that counts and its been going well..

What great weather and a top location. The skydivers also kept it interesting as well in those wait around moments. Big thanks for all the people involved with the food as well.
Everything went so smoothly today, I think we finally got it right, really well organised, thanks to the safety check people and well done Marty - the running order, keys, directions, alarms, HU navigation and the fact people were right by their cars really helped. All contributed to make it a lot easier to settle down and concentrate on the sounds, to mark well and to try and think of some useful feedback.
On the point of marks, it's hard to be consistent between rounds. It kind of depends of how good the first car is as of course you have to then be relative to that. Overall things definitely sounded better than last round but the scores might have been a tad lower.
Also I really must say, there were some cars when I found myself just sitting there enjoying listening to the music (on a CD I've heard 100 times). Had to force myself to be distracted and score. It's getting that good

That aside, some excellent systems and those you can hear the quality in (but not quite the perfect eq) still need some tuning - I'm sure that when everything is right and I hope the feedback helped - they really are going to be some fantastic sounding cars, hopefully shivers / hair on the back of the neck stuff. It would be great to see a 10 awarded.

How was the turnout, were you down on numbers, or were the missing places taken up by locals/newbies ?
Great to hear it went smooth.

Hey! Sorry for the late reply... I didnt get on here for long yesterday afternoon, coz i was just dead tired, and remembered half way thru the day that i had an exam on at 8:30am this morning... Argh!

Anyways, what a great day. Wollongong sure put on its finest weather for the comp! Beautiful sun, not a cloud in the sky and no howling wind off the water...
Good turnout, even tho i think we were about 6 cars down in Am St, it was still a great day, and another VERY close contest...
Big thanks to Billy and Leo (and i think Sonny aswell?) for cooking the Snags and/or keeping an eye on them anyways

cheers guys!
Thanks also to Marty and all the organisers etc, and lastly Congratulations to the winners for each class

Onto some pics!

edit: argh. i uploaded all the non edited pics with numberplates shown

DAMMIT! check back soon for the proper ones. lol

I say lets have another one at the 'Gong again another time also!
Firstly there are quite a few competitors from up that way, and secondly it's nice to get a bit of a change from the usual local venues.
The drive up is usually enjoyable as well

You think you have problems - I only just worked my way up to the top 10.
To make matters worse the whole thing was so close that there was only 2 points seperating me in 10th from Antony in 5th - so those of us in the 6th-10th positions were a lot closer then the rankings would suggest.
Not any more though - I think I'd need to win about every other round left to win overall, and I don't see that hapenning.
I sure as hell have my work cut out.
The car sounds nice, but it's let down by staging which takes a big chunk of the score.
Edit: My next install work looks like it will come just after my exams as well, which are I think either just before or a week before round 4 (depending on whether it's the last weekend or second last)
That may threaten my ablity to compete - but hopefully not.

It would be interesting to see where I now sit on the leaderboard.
Although 34 points overall may be low in the rankings, Im thinking big anyway, never know with the unpredictability of competitors being able to make it each round, and the changes to systems along the way. I could still have a chance of finishing in the top 5 by seasons end.
One things for sure, Im going to be at every single round, and there will also be positive ( I hope) changes to my system for each round.

We've made a bit of a move up the leaderboard Mark, into the top 10 and the top 5 is a realistic goal by season's end if your system keeps improving, I know you've got some good improvements in store, as I'm sure a few other competitors do also. I reckon round 4 will be a very tight contest.

Jun 6 2007, 10:20 AM
Woohooo I only dropped two positions

There is still a big margin seperating the top 5 from the next 8 though... that said I think top 5 by seasons end is a reachable goal if I work hard at it.
Will do everything I can to make next round, and I'll call today to try to rechedule the booking.
