Opening up the black cardboard box, I was greeted with a slab of sexy cool silver colored aluminum heatsink, I am not surprised that the heatsink won the coveted Hugo Proscutto Award for Spacial Industrial NeoClassical design. I appreciated the fact that the DD logo was CNC engraved to save 2.157 grams of weight (thanks guys, hey every little bit helps, hehehe). A simple plastic bag with an instruction manual inside, reading the manual there were a couple of simple spelling errors, but it was still clear and easy to read.
Looking at the business end of the amplifier you are greeted by 2 x 0g inputs for power and earth (which happily accepted dual runs of modified cable
and unlike the C4a as mentioned by Tegboy

The remote turn-on was a different size and the speaker terminals were yet another size.
........all the connections on the M3 use 2 sizes of allen key (big for the power/earth, smaller for remote and speakers)On the other end from left to right you have 2 RCA inputs, stop and go lights, Gain (.2 - 8v), Subsonic Filter (10 - 30hz) Low pass filter (LPF 20 - 200hz) a master/slave switch and input for strapping 2 M3s together.
At 540 L x 235 W x 54 H the amp isn't massive by any means, so having room to fit it shouldn't be a hassle for too many people.
The M3 is rated to be 1 ohm stable and capable of 2700rms on 14.4v @ 1% THD and after loading these puppies down to .25 EACH (strapped onto .5 ohm loads) I wouldn't doubt that claim for a second. (both the 1 ohm stability and the power output)
They are super strong, we saw voltage dropping into the low 9s and Phil claims he saw a high 8v
Not once did any of the amps go into protection.........THATS TOUGH AMPS.
The amps do seem to have a turn off click in the relay and whilst this may be frowned upon for those into SQ It sure didn't phase us.
Listening time.......hahahahhahaha........not assesable, played 67hz beautifully though.
Conclusion:
Put simply, THESE AMPS ARE FKN AWESOME!!
Why?
They look hot.
They are 9v beast
They'll take 16v
They aren't huge.
They are strappable. (imo any decent sized monoblock 1500rms+ that is not strappable is a waste of cash)
They love .25 ohm
They in my opinion at $1599rrp will offer great value for those that want a strong daily amp that makes a decent amount of power without going over the top.
That'll do for now, once I get the car back from Cartunez I'll get some pics of the amps.
