Hey fellas, can anyone tell me what these 7/8" tweeters sound like, say in comparison to the harsher titanium tweeters, like MB quart or focal (I like harsh, i get my jollies from listening fatigue)?
cheers.

How would you rate their amps in terms of SQ and reliability? The specs look good on the Polk website and pricewise I'd imagine they'd be in a similar class to the Focal range of amps...

Hi guys. I am thinking of running these speakers with polk amps but have nowhere to listen to them. How do they stack up against others in the price range? Anywhere in brisbane audition them? I am going down there next week.

I read that article on the polk site a while ago but was just after some aussie opinions... I am fairly sold on these splits but when u can't go down to your local shop and have a listen i am cautious. I am going to brisbane thursday and leaving tuesday so i guess i will miss the opportunity to hear yours pyr0 :-(

I've got a set of splits on order which should go in this week. Looking forward to it!
Would like to hear any opinions people have on Polks amps. I may look at these amps if the problems with my current amp are unable to be rectified.

I run the SR6500 in my car (VS statesman) biamped off a C400.4 and couldn't be happier. I also use 2xC300.2 for my subs. My reasoning for going the polk amps were :
1) Reviews on OS sites were very positive
2) I got them for a VERY nice price
3) I was more then impressed with the SR6500's quality/performance 4) the C400.4 is perfect for running the SR's in biamp config
5) IMO they are dead sexy

I use the car daily to travel to work and am extreamly happy with the results. They are also (as most quality amps are) under rated with their power.

Yep, I understand the amps are under rated which is not a bad thing. How would you describe the overall sound of the Polks running off the Polk amps? I had a brief listen to a demo set Marty at FHRX had, but they've since been sold. I recently crossed the DLS Nobelium off my speaker list after trialling them in my car and as nice as the Morel Supremos are, they just don't quite do it for me. The Polks are the only other speaker which stood out in my memory, as they had good mid-bass, nice detail and a smooth tweeter. Just enjoyable to listen to I guess.
Just on the amps, I assume they're pretty reliable?

People in NSW can hear the SR6500's here BTW.

Hmmm... must add the polks to my wish list, that review was very interesting and if they sound nicer than the supremos, I'm very interested in them..
Maybe Shrek IS on to something serious..

Well I've got the Polks in the car and while they are brand new out of the box and no where close to being run in, I already rate these highly. Much better to my ears than a lot of other high end speakers I've been listening to of late. I'll be parting with my hard earned on Monday for these gems.
