G'day everybody,

just a quick introduction before i bore everyone with silly questions,

Friends and family all call me meaty or any play on that that somehow incorporates meat.

I work on a mine site as a Lab Manager. Fly in Fly out on a 3 & 2 roster

I listen to most sorts of music, with my preference to rock, bands like Tool, Muse, Rage against the machine, for a young bloke, i have a good appreciation of where rock came from, gotta love bands like led zeppelin, pink floyd, Jimmy Hendrix. and of coarse, bob dylan ( up there with my most played)

I Just bought a 07 wrx with plans to do a fair bit of modification on mainly the stereo and engine.. maybe a nice pair of shiny wheels too.

currently got two pioneer 12" in the boot off a 1000w rms kenwood amp, and the yellow cone pioneeer splits (forget which models) off a 240w rms pioneer amp, im planning on doing a complete custom setup soon and go for a SQ setup after the novelty of massive bass wears off

Sounds alright. Though I think this thread is worthless without pics tongue.gif So start a thread in the 'your rides and installs' thread to show off your pride and joy.

Have you got any ideas yet what you want to do to the car, and a budget in mind for a stereo (coz thats what we're here for really)

Anyhow, welcome to the forums, leave your wallet at the door tongue.gif

i'll post pictures as soon as i get a camera laugh.gif

budget is around 6-10k over a year to get it satisfactory standard. already sound deadened the whole car, i doubt i'll keep any of the existing equipment im using now except for maybe the kenwood amp..

Ideas i've had so far is a pair of mb quarts q line. 6.5 " splits. and for bass i've had a few ideas - one that im focusing on is a good 15" sub, still looking for one of suitable quality and a pair of 8 " either mounted on the rear parcel shelf, or rear doors. i want to do it this way cus i'v found its hard to get a linear bass response from just one size sub. 12's are a good comprimise but lack a little in the higher frequency's 10's a bit more linear but dont quite get the heart beat changing thump..

i'd want to set it up so the 8's do most of the work and the 15" stays off most of the time, but so i can turn it on for those party nights when you wanna throw SQ out the window and rock the whole neighbourhood tongue.gif

Have you signed up to perth wrx already? I advise you do so!

Perth WRX has alot of well done installs for some reason (they must have the biggest market share of people using Dynaudio in WA i tell you!) so ask on their aswell as here for any advice and tips wink.gif

Cheers,

Jason.

PS - come along to the Westcoast Sound Off competitions to meet a few forum members and hear a few cars to get some idea's as to what you may want in your future SQ system wink.gif
