This is a totally random question.. But is it possible to remove the screen from a laptop to make it thinner?

The reason i ask is i have an older laptop that would fit perfectly behind my seat (2 seater) if it didnt have the screen.

If you're thinking about mounting a laptop there, why don't you open up the unit itself and do it that way

Should be no isuses with that - the only problem I can see, is if the laptop won't boot as it can't find the screen.

The screens are usually attached with ribbon cable and two hinges - not that hard to remove. You will just have to make sure it will boot correctly with a secondary monitor before removing it.

Keep it handy too, as you may need the screen if things go wrong.

yep, laptops will work fine, as long as it has a secondary VGA output, the laptop will look for the primary screen, just like a desktop, when it doesn't find it, it will go onto screen 2, and display on that. i have many laptops running around the house doing different things like this. they stay permanently booted and have the screens removed (including external ones) they run completly blind.
