P.S.
I ONLY use MTX components in my system.

^ Exactly. You havent really left your options open, so thats about the only choice.
From memory MTX have a few models of 6.5" splits, so just audition them to see which you like best, and buy them!

why do u ony want mtx?
there would be other options, which you might like better. but if it has to be MTX, then buy the range in your price bracket...pretty simple really...more belongs in the beginners section anyway

ok then, my mistake. what would u suggest in any other brands?
maybe a 3-way component setup? Use the factory 4" mounting positions? mount all spks in the door?
any suggestions are helpful.

Budget?
2 way is easier to get sounding right, 3 way takes more time, effort and planning, though apparantly it is worth it. I'll give a list of both, see what you can listen to in all different budgets
*2-way 6~6.5" splits
~ $200: hertz ESK165, focal 165A1
~ $300~400: alpine type-R SPR-17LS, mb quart DSF-216, hertz HSK165, Boston acoustics S60, focal 165V1, digital designs DDC-6.5a, Morel Dotech 6,
~ $500: focal, Boston acoustics SL60, mb quart RVF-216, digital designs DDW6.5set, morel hybrid ovation 6, Boston SX60
$1k Speakers:
Boston Acoustics Z5/Z6 - $1500; Pro60 - $1k
Focal 165K2P - $850; 165K3P (3 way) - $1400
Dynaudio System 222 - $1k; System 242 - $1100; system 342 (3 ways) - $1500
Hertz – MLK165 - $800
Morel – Supremo 6 - $1400; Elate 6 (3 way) - $1k
OZ Audio – OZ 180CS - $1k
Polk – SR6500 - $1300
DLS UP6 $ 799
DLS UR6i $1249
DLS UR36S (three way set) $1,499
DLS IRIDIUM 6.2i $1,499
DLS NOBELIUM $1,800
There's a lot to listen to, but it's better to listen to too many speakers then not enough, at least you may have a chance at making a valid decision on what you like

as said 3-ways are harder to get right, and i would stick with 2-ways unless you are prepaired to spend a while to get them right. and i wouldnt go 3-ways unless i had a budget over 1k. otherwise you woule be better off sticking to 2-ways
