Legatia L8's have finally been released!!

For those who dont know, Scott Buwulda has finally released the next unit in the Legatia family, an 8" midwoofer. For SQ music, it can reach into the bottom octaves (on a properly built box). For loud, it is designed to have an incredible kickbass that rivals Rainbow, but can take more power.

Hmmm, now whether I have the money to get one......

How does it compare to smaller Legatia drivers do you know?

Matt, the L8 are designed for I.B. so are ideal for door installations too( if you have the space.) to get serious bass up front. Scott has a pair waiting for me but I'm still undecided between the L6 (easy instal) or L8 (bit of agro). I would have to do some custom work to get these in my doors

Cost can be quite high at $610 USD( RRP ) but considerably less for previous clients.

p.s. I think the hands belong to Mark Stringer

Im pretty sure those hands are Stringers, yeah. And with a Qts of around 0.71- 0.72, IB in the doors will definitely be the way to go. Surely the difference between the L6 (7.2") and the L8 (8.2") wouldnt be that different though, personally I reckon it would be an easy decision....

And Tom, you're like a wife... tongue.gif

In terms of cost, $610USD is IMO quite good for the pair. Ive been looking at Audiotechnology's CQuenze units, and they are around the same cost. Might be interesting to listen to some, see what they are really capable of.

And yours would be? tongue.gif . It's a tough call for me, as I dont know to what extent I'll need to go to fit the 8's in. When i get a free weekend sad.gif I'll check clearances etc. but I'd certainly love to have a set of these up front to complete my HAT line-up.
