ive looked everywhere, but i cant find T/S specs for the Pro60 mid.
does anybody have them?
if not, can someone recommend me an enclosure size to try?
in my exploring ive had figures ranging from 8L up to 50L.
can anyone confirm/deny/elaborate?

Maybe its worth a try to give Boston a ring themselves, their number is on the back of the manual. Or Maybe email then directly. The Pro60's T/S Specs are no where to be found. The Pro60's were really designed to be run from factory speaker locations so id assume they would have designed the mid to run in the volume of a single door? Just my 2c's worth! Experiment and let me know, would be handy come time to install mine.

If it hasnt already been done, just completly deaden and seal the door? Try put some absorbion pads behind the mid (dynaxorb or focal plain chant) and see if it makes a difference?

i'm not complaining about a lack of midbass

the car they will be going in is in pieces ready for painting..it will be deadenend thorughly (2 bulk packs for the doors and boot)
i just wanted to make a temp enclosure in my current car, as the 4"s in the dash wont play below 125Hz comfortably. then i measured up, and realised it wouldnt work.
then i got thinking about an enclosure in the door...

I emailed boston about the pro60 t/s specs as well, and they wouldn't tell me!
all they said was to run it in the doors lol
I also asked them about the x-over points, they just said to use the passive's
Are boston acoustics the only damn company that does this?

i think so..
i emailed them about the xover points, to use for refernce when running active, they said run em passive!!

You would have to do alot of testing to get the best anyway.model 5 different 6.5 woofers in the enclosure programs and get a roughy of a box size, work from there..........cors

Yeah Boston are tight with info
Focal recomend 30 litres for their K2P and KBE if that's anything to go by. I think its the volume of the average door
To get a completely sealed enclosure I thought the way to go is one thats fitted to the door. I'd say it's a lot of work though and not something you would do for temporary measures

no... the door enclosure was more for the good car...

Have you seen my experimental enclosure?
This thing yeilds 13 litres but with some thinking I believe you could get 20, without going right to the top like this one does. It would require a lot of work to make a permanent one though
EDIT: I should have mentioned this. Someone suggested to me to use PVC pipe inside the door for an enclosure. Because its only midbass and not a sub, it doesn't have to be so rigid. I don't know how possible that is but the idea about not being for a sub was food for thought

Click to view attachmentwhat are other peoples thoughts on the pipe as enclosure idea? would it matter about bends etc, or only volume?

I'm quite sure the bends wouldn't matter and because pipe is round it would have natural strength. Does anyone agree with that?
And another idea
What if you had a pipe that is joined at the edge of the door like airconditioning vents, and leads to the main enclosure? You could have it inside the dash or in a 2-door, behind the seat or whatever! I'm just not sure how large you would need the diameter to be...

Pipes are fine, as long as they are large enough not to impede the flow of air in any way.
If it does, it could end up as some form of quasi-bandpass enclosure

any thoughts on how big an enclosure should be, or where i might be able to find the specs to model a box?

Hi guys!! Sorry I didn't see this thread sooner.
Here's the spec sheets for the Z6 and the Pro60's:
:edit:
Actually, these docs don't show the T/S parameter's either

(I just noticed)
I'll have a look around work on Monday to see if I still have some stuff that I got when I was in thier R&D office last year. It may help...
