Hey guys, been a member here for a little while now , but only recently attempted a carputer (CARPC) setup.

This is my first and current setup awaiting final in car testing by this is what ive got so far.

Custom stainless chassis, 4mm thick

with asus socket a m/b, running athlon 2000+ with 1024ddr400,

only a Samsung 40gb at the moment, also got a low profile ATI 9550se 128mb agp

Its got a aopen 200w powersupply from a Micro Desktop Case..my cutting on the rear of the chassis isnt the best but for my first attempt itt'l do..

Im running in the car currently a Inovatek DVD player (ebay cheapy.. will be replaceing asap)

Purchased an ebay 7" Sunvisor

Installed that the same weekend as the deck

And a nite shot.

Just need to get an inverter to give the carputer the final in car test.

Will be using a keyboard to navigate until i get a touch screen or something.

What do u guys think? Any comment welcome..

It looks good, very practical. Got a question, could you explain how you attached the motherboard risers in the 4mm steel?

question: how much was the sunvisor monitor ($) and was it difficult to install? Cheers, Bryce.

"could you explain how you attached the motherboard risers in the 4mm steel? ".. I sorta cheated my way through that one by using the plastic spacers that go through the board and on the bottom is just a flat surface, I just super glued down. Because I was unsure of final location of actuall chassis, i didnt want any thing protruding from underneath it.

The sunvisor including shipping came to $100... it was a bargin i thought. Took bout 30 mins to install all up. Used extising holes at the A-pillar end, but it was somewhat shorter than the standard falcon one so had to drill a new hole for support clip. That visor was one of the last availble like it. I wanted just the left hand side only and just screen. Every other type of sunvisor monitor has a dvd player inbuilt into the screen which I didnt want.

funny storie bout that actully, The ebay sellers name was Calco68 or sumthing similar, he was an awsome seller. Had grey and beige available. Was located in Melb i think. Only had that type and size for sale at the time i purchased. Two days afta reciving the screen, I recived an email from ebay saying this seller has stop selling with ebay, and they couldnt say why not due to privacy reasons. They were just checkin if i had infact recived the item.
