So each car from each class gets judged 3 times?

A pair of VIC judges, then QLD, then NSW? Then the 3 scores are averaged or something?

How exactly does the judging work?

Thanks. smile.gif

Same as last year i'd imagine.

2 judges from different states paired up as a "team". (IE: one from Vic, one from NSW), they hop in the car, judge it, switch seats, judge it again, and the total of the 2 (or the average, doesnt matter) is the final score.

Last year my car was judged by Kirk/Komodo and Sam from Phatt Audio. Both VIC guys.

Woody and Blanketman did my Safety Check.

Just a reminder....

Consumption of alcohol IS permitted (in moderation), during the course of the event.
Judges are not permitted to drink alcohol until the conclusion of judging their respective classes.

Any competitor / spectator causing trouble, being loud or abusive, general disruptive behaviour will be ejected from the event with no further questions asked!
~Spyne~
does that mean judges are prohibited from drinking on the friday night?
or from drinking excessively (cos honestly, my system sounds better when heard with a drunken ear)
mad89
LOL @ Spyne! laugh.gif

Ill have to give mine a go when im pissed tongue.gif I reckon it would be heaps trippy...

"My speaker is in my door, but the sound is coming from the top of the dash. Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwww"

it seems that this point just keeps getting ignored
Cruiser
What do you want to know?
n_16er
will the sound be judges by 2 judges each from a different state?
Cruiser
All I know at this stage is that AMST will be judged by 2 judges from different states.
mad89
Dan, im also curious to know how each class will be judged, so ensure it is both consistant and fair.

The only way i see that possible, is by having 2 judges from each state judge each car, then the scores totalled, or averaged (shouldnt make a differnence), to determine the placings.

By having one judge from each stage as a pair, it means one state misses out. 1 NSW judge + 1 QLD judge means its not 'fair' to the VIC'ers etc. If that makes sense. And then you cant swap in and out judges for different states, as this becomes inconsistant.

Just some thoughts there wink.gif
Cruiser
There will be no QLD judges for sound so it doesn't matter.

There will however be a QLD judge for Show.
Marc
Time will also not permit more than one judging team in Amateur Street with 16+ entries.

We are still discussing the judging process, and it will be the fairest compromise between repeatability, spread of states and fairness we can achieve within our limitations of judges and time.

I believe the judges for Am Street at this stage are likely to be Bruce Emblin (VIC) and Hakki (NSW).

We'd say more if we knew more at this stage guys smile.gif
muzzy66
I'm not too fussed about who judges really - regardless of who it is (or from what state) I'm confident that it will be done fairly and accurately.

I just can't wait to have the car finished and be there!!

Only a week or so to go...
mad89
Thanks guys good.gif smile.gif

Will those two only be covering sound, or safety aswell?
TUN35
Best thing to do would be get those judges in your car the night before for a quick listen and see what they're keen on wink.gif

Strickly front seats, no handsie business tongue.gif

Also best of luck to all competitors! It will be a very tough competition and now doubt won't be easy for the judges either!!
Marc
I think we'll get another team doing safety (to speed up the judging process), and I'll be doing show judging along with possibly blanketman and Cruiser of all classes.
