Nice, I got the same mouse just never botherd to list it lol.
Yeh i love my case tho its huge... its like 25-30kg sad.gif so its not very fun to move around when i need to
As for your CPU tho what are you planing to do with your comp? i only ask coz if its just for programs and what not you should look at the E6600 and just over clock it unless u rly wanna get a Q6600.
enzo
yeah, i really want a q6600...lol

plan to oc to around 3.4ghz

and not really too much, girlfriend has a few architecture programs she wants to run, and i have my own engineering ones which will get a go too

crysis isnt the only reason for it lol

future proofing i guess, its the first pc i've built myself and have done a good bit of research....so yeh...hope it lasts a little while

hey mat, u got any pics mate?...how much space do you have for the 120 extreme in the 900?....lol, i only got two solid confirmations they fit....so thanks for the third

and, if i have no hope of fitting on a side fan becuase of the U120E, i might end up doing ur trick too and putting the extra fan on the other side of it
MatS
Certainly does fit, below is a link to one sinstalled in a nine-hundred, not my computer, but you get an idea of how tight it is:
http://icrontic.com/forum/showthread.php?t=53321

btw, well worth it!

edit: just noticed that apears to be the U120 only, i'll take some pics today of mine.
enzo
cheers matt

i love my nine hundred already, lol, even if it doesnt have anything in it yet

tell ya what......so much simpler to paint something like a pc case than a whole car lol....it hit me when i was doing it though, i think i owned the case for about 2 hours, before i was taking sandpaper to the inside of it......(within 15 minutes of getting it home i began pulling it apart lol)

hmm, bugger it, here's some basic pics.....as you can see, for now everything is running off the poor laptop, including one of my 500gig drives, seen to the left of the monitor, in an external caddy (my other 320gig will resume its place in there when i get the pc together)

and i know someone will have a keen eye and tell me im using a microsoft wireless mouse lol......i sold my g7 to a mate yesterday (after owning it for 3 days (ebay)), because it was the old style one, doesnt fit in with the scheme, so im in the process of aquiring one of the carbon ones (auction ends in 5 days smile.gif )

anyway......o, and this is all on my new desk tooo laugh.gif i like it. dw, cabling under the desk will be tidied when i get things running properly (only thing bundled so far is all the speaker cable (though i might mount the rear speakers high on the wall in front of me in the future))

can see the inside of the case is painted dark, it looks more black to the eye than pearl blue, but im hoping when i get the blue LEDs in there the blue will come out a bit more. excuse the shocking picture quality, but there's also my "Powered by Corsair" sticker on the bottom corner of the windowed side panel too. smile.gif

Nice Setup Enzo - I've been watching your thread for a while and it has been interesting!

I too am embarking on a Q6600 setup, but there is no case painting involved with mine! Heres what I have ordered so far:

Q6600 SLACR (G0 Stepping) [$341]
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3P (SLi board yeh!) [$199]
2 GB Patriot DDR2-800 [$144]
EVGA 8800GTS 640mb [$484]
2x WD 250GB HDD [$85ea]
Antec Sonata III & 500W Earthpower PSU [$179]

...and all this to run my pride and joy, Dell 30" Monitor!

I think I've got a great performing well specced machine pretty cheap here, with plenty of scope for upgrades in the future. The HDD will be in a Raid 0 configuration, as space is not an issue for me (I have a server elsewhere).
As the system stands now:

You'll have to speak to my mrs, she bought it for me, for my birthday. Mine will be seeing some 'real' CAD work, but probably BF2 and soon Crysis (which she has also pre-ordered for me, for chrissy - shhh) will be getting a fair bit of screen time too!
enzo
crysis is lookin pretty friggen wicked lol.......i downloaded the damned demo the day before yesterday i think it was.....neither of the PCs in my house have a chance in hell of being able to play it...neither will even get an entry screen!!

and i'll be picking up a 360 in the next few weeks....i think the missus has Halo 3 hiding for me already lol.....she cant keep a secret

nope... afaik, i've only ever posted it on 2 forums incl this =P
enzo
toyota mate, they arnt too bad

$75 or something close to that from MSY, and im very happy with them for that price

as long as you dont go in expecting amazingly high detail and smooth response everywhere, you'll be happy. they're computer speakers.

i noticed something strange though lol, when you turn the volume on the speakers down, it sort of, fades to one side.....say if you were turning it upfrom nothing, the sound comes from the right hand side, and then spreads across to the left

all fine, i just adjust softer volumes inside winamp as opposed to speakers

but yeh, good speakers for the price
`NiCk^
same.. X-530...
they were dirt cheap when i bought them and have served me well.. does their job pretty well for the price...
have no problems with volume fading...

have just installed kx audio drivers for the creative card and they can be made to sound a whole lot nicer with the amount of DSP incorperated in them drivers..
enzo
hmm...i'll see what my tax return is like

worth the money for the sound card you think nick?

and, got a link to em at all?

edit: hmm, rephrase it....would me spending 50 bucks be worth it?

this is a really old one

had a newer one, but it's hiding somewhere

newer pic...or newer computer?
Pulse-R
oh, newer pic of newer PC's
currently consist:
PC1 (tall tower in that shot)
AMD Athlon XP3200+ @ 2.19GHz
1GB DDR DC
FX5700
20GB Seagate
Samsung 940B

PC2 (not in that pic)
Shuttle XPC
AMD x64-3700
2GB DDR DC
6800GT
2x 320GB Seagate SATAII
Samsung 940B

got a few others kicking around:
Power Mac G3
PC-in-a-briefcase (P3/866)
AMD2400+ water cooled (sh1ite)

oh, and my server - Quad XEON / 2GB ECC/ 6x18GB UW 10k Raid5(plus H/S) - Fedora Core 4

plenty more too....
`NiCk^
well.. i dont know about spending money on that soundcard.. but i'm definitely sure theres a big difference going from on-board sound to a dedicated sound card...

as for that regarding the kx-audio drivers, have a look at their compatibility list.. only supports limited cards but covers a big range of creative sound cards

http://kxproject.lugosoft.com/index.php?skip=1
enzo
yeh, i chucked it up on ocau, n turns out its probably not worth it for me to spend the amount of money im willing to lol...which, is what i was expecting

cheers anyway

ok, so here is my current mess (no respectable Bachelor has a tidy "work" area) smile.gif

the PC in the shiny/mirror finish case is an Intel one...

Quad Core Q6600 + Asus p5n32-e SLi mobo. Graphics are supplied by a MSI 7900GTO (nvidia). I have a second identical card but it is currently on loan to my flat mate). Sound is supplied by a Sound Blaster Audigy X-Fi, The PC remembers what to do with 2 gig of Corsair DDR800 RAM and a pair of 500GiB HDDs. This is all housed in an Antec P182 case with a SilverStone Strider PSU providing the Spark of life.

The Second PC is my old Machine, an AMD 2500+ (Barton Core) running off an NForce2 Gigabyte Mobo with a gig of RAM keeping it sane. This machine has 4 250 gig HDDs, a 120 and a pair of 40's for storage and a 9600XT to make the screen look pretty. onboard sound provides the groovy tunes smile.gif

you will notice the SFF PC on the floor - that is a P4 3GHz machine that I scabbed from work smile.gif

you will also notice the booze amognst the mess.

The 3 screens visible are a 22" Asus and a pair of Acer 19"s

The alfoil on the window stops the heat and sunlight in summer!

`NiCk^
mmm aahhh.. the Antec 182... if i were to ever buy a case in future, that would be what i would be saving for...
how do you keep finger prints off it? =P

If you water cool and underclock can you have a REALLY queit PC?

Currently I have an Antec P180 case and its pretty quiet. But sometimes I can here the fan and the optical drives are noisy as mother funkers (hence I dont use them much). So im thinking if I get a faster PC and slow it down (i dont need the speed im only web browsing) and water cool it...
venomous
you don't need to slow it down if you water cool.

as even if its running over clocked theres nothing to get louder, apart from the radiator fans which are 120mm and wont get loud even at high speeds.

personally i only did the water cooling to keep it quite as my computer is a 24/7 PC and is on overnight every night and i hated the random bursts of power from the fans.
toyotaman
hmmmmm, maybe i should clean

Mines more audio then just PC but here it goes:

My computer consists of a 2 yr old Acer with
9600xt video card (i think)
2x 22 inch LCDs
2gb ram
2.8ghz processor
80gb hdd +120 gb external
Behringer CDJ2000 mixing panel (usb)
Yamaha Keyboard (usb)
2x100w RMS amp
Pioneer speakers
Pioneer DJ headphones
200w RMS active sub (to be replaced with Pioneer Bass Bullet 12 inch)
Multiple speakers are flush mounted in the roof throughout the house, ran from computer room.

When i have parties I also run:
18 inch power PA sub
15 inch + horn PA speakers
2x380w RMS PA amp
Behringer FBQ3102 31 band EQ
Behringer RX-1602 16 channel line mixer
Behringer PL2000 racklight

that sounds like a well thought out sound set up, parties must be pretty cool at your house
